Role Summary
The Piping Designer produces layout, arrangement and fabrication drawings
of the process packages.
Essential Responsibilities /Expectations
- Design layout in 3D models of equipment, piping, structures
- and instrumentation in a skid with consideration to:
- Provide safe operation and access for operators of the package
- Minimize fabrication cost through optimization of pipe and cable
- tray routing
- Follow international standards and project specifications
- Understanding of the fundamental process and mechanical
- requirements of the company’s process packages
- Able to spatially conceptualize and translate ideas into design
- drawings
- Familiar with the requirements of Oil & Gas drawings, including normal
- symbology and the requirement for consistency
- Understand the data requirements of drawings being produced to
- facilitate an efficient fabrication process
- Ability to translate technical data into equipment drawings
- Familiarity with fabrication practices
- Produce detailed drawings for both proposal and project requirements
- Ensure that fabrication drawings clearly present information to the
- shop floor
- Resolve issues during fabrication, such as physical clashes
- Review drawings produced by others
- Produces documents & drawings in line with the project schedule targets
- Produces documents & drawings in line with the cost budgets
- Proficient in the use of 3D modelling packages (Solidworks / Cadworks) and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with international specifications relating to structures, piping and vessels
- • Familiarity with different international standards for
- Modelling/ Drafting • Familiarity with 3D Modelling /E3D /packages like Solid works / CAD works / AutoCAD Plant 3D
Educational Qualification
Engineering Degree — Mechanical or equivalent
experience 5 years experience in Oil & Gas or related
industry
